Scholarships

The cost of higher education limits access to the health professions for many individuals, especially those from disadvantaged backgrounds and populations underrepresented in medicine and science. The BLS department offers 5 different scholarships for students interested in our bachelor's degree and master's degree programs.

A departmental review committee uses a rubric to score submitted scholarship applications based in part upon the following criteria: eligibility, completeness, quality, writing, personal and professional goals. Only students who have already submitted a GW application and have been admitted may complete a scholarship application.

The student's total tuition must be greater than the scholarship amount. If the tuition total falls below the scholarship amount, the scholarship will be rescinded and the student will be responsible for their tuition cost.
